Mascus Opens an Office in Portugal

Mascus, the Pan-European marketplace for used equipment opens an office in Portugal

A Successful Year for Mascus

It was been a good year for Mascus, the Pan-European marketplace for used heavy equipment and machinery. Despite the current economical situation, for the year 2008 the electronic marketplace Mascus has managed to double the amount of used machines and used trucks available on its page, reaching the impressive amount of 60,000 used transport vehicles, forklifts, construction, agriculture, forestry, and groundscare machines. Mascus also reports to have over half a million monthly buyers of used equipment, visiting its pages. In addition, during 2008 Mascus also opened more offices in Europe in consistency with its internationalization plans. From the beginning of the 2008, new offices has been opened doors for altogether seven European countries and the marketplace is constantly expanding its reach, meeting the challenges of being the First Truly Pan European marketplace for used machinery.

Another European Office

From the beginning of December 2008, Mascus will open its 23rd European office this time in Portugal. The new Portuguese office will be opened in partnership with the classified publisher Ocasião www.ocasiao.pt, a part of one of the biggest Portuguese media groups Controlinveste, the owner of various newspapers, journals and e-marketplaces.

The newly formed partnership with Ocasião marks another licence agreement for Mascus and in accordance to it, Ocasião will be responsible for sales and marketing on the Portuguese market, while Mascus will provide knowledge, know-how and IT support. "Now we will be even closer to our Portuguese customers and will be able to give them the possibility to buy and sell used machines locally and internationally, which has always been the core of Mascus' multi-local concept." says Rickard Petersson, Mascus Sales director. "Our customers in Portugal have the opportunity to all use our products and services in their native language, while at the same time reach buyers from whole Europe." he adds.

More opportunities to sell and buy used equipment in Portugal

The new Portuguese Country Manager Gustavo Simões has been appointed and already started selling Mascus in Portugal. "I am glad to have the opportunity to offer Mascus products and services. We also will advertise Mascus Portugal www.mascus.pt in many local newspapers, fairs, events and Google in order to give all Mascus customers even more opportunities to reach potential buyers for their used equipment and trucks.

Adding Portuguese language also makes Mascus, the marketplace available now in 26th European languages and altogether present in more than 32 countries. "Our rapid international expansion is a fact and we are adding more and more local offices all the time.
