Press Release 23.12.2005
Mascus has launched a new language version – Ukrainian - for its marketplace
for used equipment. Customers in Ukraine will have access to a wide supply of
used equipment, all through one location, in their own mother tongue. As a
result, sales of used machines and vehicles to the east will accelerate.
The Mascus marketplace (www.mascus.com)
is the leading Northern European electronic marketplace for used equipment and
vehicles. Via Mascus it is possible to offer for sale used agricultural and
forestry machines as well as transport, groundscare, construction, and materials
handling equipment. Outside the Nordic region, Mascus is active in Eastern
Europe, the Baltic countries, Russia, and the United Kingdom.
Mascus now operates also in Ukrainian, the 16th language for the marketplace.
Mascus has also started a marketing campaign in Ukraine. Over the last six
months, Mascus has been visible at construction, transportation, and materials
handling fairs in Kiev. Banner and paper advertising in media related to
industry has been conducted for several months now.
‘We reduce the language barrier associated with buying used equipment from
abroad. The seller inputs his machine ad into the marketplace in his native
language, and likewise the buyer can study the machine details in his own mother
tongue. We also co-operate with other service providers, such as finance
companies and transportation companies, to promote the transaction between buyer
and seller – all online,’ Mascus Sales and Marketing Director Fredrik
Larsson explains.
Sales of used equipment grow on the Internet
‘We believe that our presence in Eastern Europe is increasing the
attractiveness of our services to all of our European customers. With every
quarter, Mascus is reaching more potential buyers and importers in countries
where Mascus is strongly present locally, and also in countries with a strong
demand for such equipment, like the Baltics, Poland, Russia, and Ukraine’,
Larsson says. He continues: ‘In the last 12 months, the number of visitors has
increased 153%, and last November we reached a new all-time high of 1,150,000
product card openings.’
