27 April 2006

The Finnish Alma Media Interactive Oy has signed a licence agreement for Mascus, the electronic market place for used equipment and transportation vehicles, with Steinborn Sp.J, Poland, and Biterra Klemen Bizjak s.p, Slovenia.

Through this agreement, the operations of Mascus’ used machinery marketplace will be transferred to Steinborn Sp.J in Poland and Biterra Klemen Bizjak s.p in Slovenia. Steinborn and Biterra will be responsible for the sales and marketing of the Mascus marketplace and will have the right to use the Mascus trademark and technical platform, while Alma Media Interactive will be responsible for the maintenance and technical support of the Mascus marketplace.

In Poland, Steinborn Sp.J is best known for its second largest classified ads magazine, Anonse, and its popular portal, www.anonse.pl, while Biterra is a Slovenia-based media house set up two years ago.

Mascus’ number of licence agreements in Europe has now increased by two. The first licence and co-operation agreement was signed last year with the Norwegian publishing house Hjemmet Mortensen. Mascus is currently negotiating similar licence agreements in other European countries.

Mascus is Northern Europe’s leading marketplace for used equipment and vehicles. At the moment, the marketplace has approximately 20,000 used machines and vehicles, worth almost EUR 400 million, from over 800 dealers and manufacturers throughout Europe.

Alma Media Interactive Oy is the leading Finnish company specialising in e-marketplaces. Etuovi.com in the housing trade, Autotalli.com in the used car trade, Monster.fi in the recruiting business as well as Mascus.com in the used heavy machines business are all market leaders in the services they provide, reaching a total of over 1,000,000 visitors a month.
